August 23, 2018 MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL KATHLEEN SULLIVAN
We have gotten into the groove of school here at Hill Country! For the nine weeks, our focus is on relationships, both building and maintaining strong relationships and knowing how to resolve conflicts. During this time in their lives, teens will often find new friend groups and build new friendships, both which are part of figuring out their identity. This can be challenging, exciting and stressful -- all at the same time. Students will have a variety of opportunities and activities to learn about and work on these skills. For example, our 8th graders learned characteristics of healthy and positive relationships, such as the presence of trust, mutual respect, and enjoyment of time spent together. Students worked to identify common values and interests when working with different groups. This helped them see how connecting with people who share common interests can help them make friends. When students understand what positive relationships look like, it helps them connect with peers who support them and make them feel good about themselves.

Important Info About Outside Food Brought In Many of our students are fortunate to have a parent who will bring them food from a nearby restaurant for lunch. Please handle this the same way you would if you were bringing in a lunch from home. Write your child's name on it, and then place it on the correct grade level cart. Please note you may only bring in lunch for your own child. This is to keep our many students with food allergies from ingesting something they should not. On that same note, we do not accept Favor or other food deliveries at Hill Country. Thank you for understanding.
