MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL KATHLEEN SULLIVAN
Do The Write Thing WINNERS! Every year our 8th grade students enter the Do the Write Thing! Challenge, a writing contest that calls them to think about how violence has affected their lives and what they believe they can do to put an end to youth violence. Out of all of the HCMS entries, Ja Brown and Trinity Nguyen's entries were advanced to the county-level competition. Both students were recognized at the awards ceremony last night, where Trinity Nguyen was chosen to be an ambassador for the National Campaign to Stop Violence! This coming July Trinity will join with ambassadors from across the states at a five-day conference and national recognition ceremony in Washington, DC. Along with visits to the United States Capitol and the Untied States Supreme Court, all of their writings will be published in one volume and presented to the United States Library of Congress. Congratulations to Trinity! So proud of you for using the power of the written word to make a difference in the world!
